Permel is a custom sign company and was founded more than 30 years ago in the garage of a Burnaby home. The founder and owner had one small engraving machine and a very capable partner in his wife, who was keen to establish and grow a successful engraving business.
After just a few years the couple moved the business to a storefront shop in Richmond, expanded its technology, and it continued to grow. This growth caught the interest of a new owner, and Permel was relocated to Burnaby where it expanded its offerings to industrial engraving, awards and gifts.
In September 1993 Craig Fotheringham joined Permel in its Burnaby location and figured it was a good business proposition. In 1996 he bought the business, and true to form, continued to expand into new areas and acquire leading edge technology.
Permel is now a thriving specialty engraving and sign shop, serving clients across BC, with a team of professionals who operate their state-of-the art equipment with care, promising every client a first class job.
